The month of roses: tea and its beneficial properties

In May we celebrate roses, brides and the transition from spring to summer. A beautiful month which we want to glorify with our Rose Teas. Why choose Roses to make tea? Roses have so many symbolic meanings,  you can't help celebrating them. A Rose is passion, devotion, love, beauty and admiration, but it also represents purity and chasteness.

With all the myth and symbolisms surrounding the Rose it is perhaps easy to forget it's beneficial properties and peculiarities. For example, if we are going through a particularly difficult time the Rose can energise and invigorate us; it has anti-inflammatory and  antihistaminic properties; it also has a high content of vitamin C and is an effective diuretic!

Our Rose teas are all well loved and sought after, so in celebration of May and all its connotations, we would like to introduce you to our latest addition to our Rose collection: Babingtons’ Cherry Rose. This is one of our famous iced teas, created specially for the summer season. It is a very delicate Chinese Sencha based tea enriched with cherries and rose petals and should be prepared using the cold method or on the rocks. Whichever way you choose it must absolutely be served iced! It is a delicious tea whether drunk in its pure form or with a splash of liquid sugar. A candied or fresh cherry will give it a little touch of je ne sais quoi!
