Also this year, we are preparing to celebrate the birthday of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. The official birthday, according to English tradition, falls on the second Saturday in June (this year, 2018, took place on 9 June). On this occasion, a huge parade takes place in London involving both the royal family and all English citizens and during which there is the famous Trouping the Color, the parade of the flag.

According to this tradition, for over 250 years, the English sovereigns have been reviewing the division of the guards on the occasion of the anniversary.

The real birthday of Elizabeth II, on the other hand, which coincides with her actual date of birth, takes place on 21 April, but it is a less institutional occasion, and more linked to the royal family closest to the queen.

The Italian celebrations will be held at the residence of the English Ambassador in Rome, Villa Wolkonsky, a beautiful location where we have already had the opportunity to celebrate the opening of the year of our 125th anniversary.

We are participating for the second time in this wonderful initiative, during which we do not limit ourselves to being spectators, but we bring our identity and our history: tea! In fact, on this occasion we will serve our tea of ​​125 years, Miss Babingtons, both in the cold version and in the hot version. Black tea, vanilla, honey, elderberry, rose petals, blueberries, juniper berries and myrtle leaves are mixed with great skill to give us a blend that celebrates the union between Rome and England through the choice of such Italian ingredients, so British. No tea could best represent this occasion!

And to eat? Next to the tea we will now serve our famous decorated biscuits. Not only those in the shape of a crown that last year made everyone present happy - this year in a colored version, hand-painted one by one - but also cookies on which we do not want to keep a secret: small ovals with the profile of the queen.
