We are delighted to be able to launch our first season of Victorian Summer tea parties this year.

Our Victorian Happy Hour! Many are already familiar with our Victorian Teas where you are invited to take tea in a unique surrounding where every detail of the Victorian atmosphere is taken into consideration and accounted for. With a new twist to it Babingtons’ Victorian Happy Hour is our innovative version of Afternoon Tea, a celebration of tea with a summer feel to it and taken in the cooler hours of the evening.

This tea becomes the vital ingredient of our cocktails and is the heart of our Victorian Happy Hour. Served with sweet and savoury petites it is the hight of quintessentially English summer.

We have taken our inspiration from the much loved “garden tea parties” and have come up with a new menu. We have taken typically sweet tea time favourites and transformed them into savoury delicacies. These are served to you by our girls wearing early nineteen hundreds uniforms on antique table linen.

To this day Queen Elizabeth II hosts three garden parties in the grounds of Buckingham Palace and one at Holyrood Palace in Scotland. At each Garden Party, around 27,000 cups of tea, 20,000 sandwiches and 20,000 slices of cake are consumed! Garden Parties are an important way for The Queen to speak to a broad range of people from all walks of life, all of whom have made a positive impact in their community.

To celebrate this ritual in a more innovative and modern context, in the beautiful premises in Piazza di Spagna, we give serve Babingtons’ Victorian Happy Hour. Each Wednesday from from 6,30 to 9 pm, till the end of July you are welcome to relish our new and exciting menu including savoury cup cakes and scones, sandwiches, petites and our delicious Pavlova cakes. To drink you may choose from our many varieties of iced teas or our brand new selection of tea based cocktails. We have created these cocktails from our very own blends of tea and they represent another step in Babingtons passion for and research in the world of tea. The cost of a Victorian Happy Hour is 23 euros. We look forward to welcoming you!
